blinking CEL, no code
I just got my 5.4 2003 expy a week ago. I drove it for 100 miles since the purchase with no problems until yesterday. after a moderate acceleration(half throttle maybe), the CEL came on blinking for about 30 secs, the truck drove pretty rough, felt like at least one cylinder was misfiring. then cel went off and the truck drove normal. after i went home, i tried to pull the codes with my obdII, no code. I started changing my plugs yesterday, and found out the gaps on the plugs were set incorrectly at .044inch. I suspect i have a faulty coil that only act up during moderate acceleration. I will start swapping coils one by one. Does anyone out there have similar problem? any insight is greatly appreciated. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

A blinking CEL means that a catalyst damaging condition exists. In other words, the misfire is sever enough to damage your catalytic converters and the vehicle should not be driven until it is fixed.
