I WAS BACKING INTO MY GARAGE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOST MY POWER STEERING AND MY BRAKES.... WHAT THE HELL HAPPEND HAVE POWER STEERING FLUID EVERYWHERE, IT LOOKS LIKE THE LINE PULLED OUT OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP.... ANYONE EVER HAD THIS HAPPEN? WHY THE LOSS OF MY BRAKES? HELP...
They use the same hydrobooster or something related if Im not mistaken. When you fix the line and refill....make sure you use ATF(doesnt use traditional PS fulid)...get a good quality synthetic ATF!

I believe so. Not a transmission fluid expert and I did mine a while back so memory is a lil fuzzy. Someone will chime in and let you know for sure....
No problem! I would also make sure your brakes are workin well before you get out on the highway. If air got in the system you will have to get it out first!
Both systems run off of the power steering pump. A few guys mentioned that one of the lines run by the shock mount and wear through, causing a major leak. If that isn't where you leak is, put some rubber or plastic tube over that spot to keep it from wearing through in the future.
I had it happen to mt '02 F350 powerstroke. The pressure hose from the pump is captured in the pump by a small circlip. The clip wears out and then the hose end is pushed through the nut on the side of the pump. You need a new hose assy.
It happened to me when I was 600 miles from home and I had to jury rig a circlip from a small spring. I cut one coil from the spring and used it as the circlip to keep the hose inside the nut. It lasted for about 10,000 miles and the next time it blew out I bought a new hose.
