Exhaust question

I'm new to this forum and am seeking advise. I have an 06 F350 SD DRW that I am using to tow a 5th wheel. I am getting ready to start full timing and wanted to know about upgrading exhaust. I'm told it will help with mpg. Any thoughts? Thanks, Rick

this summer im going with the 5" flo pro because of price and the easy availability...some say you lose a tad in the low end but you can't beat the sound

my main reason for wanting the 5" is to drop my egt's alot,bc i dont have arp's yet

I can vouch for that. Your power band will definately move up a couple 100 rpms. Truck would start yanking the load at around 1600 rpms with the stock exhaust, but now that the 5in is in place it will start to yank the trailer at 1800 rpms. Sounds amazing though.

It will take a long time before the gains in fuel milage will pay for the exhaust. However, it will help reduce EGT which is a good benefit. Turbo back is the way to go. I have a Pinnacle exhaust from Jerry Jardine and like it. I hollowed the kitty and got a little more turbo whistle I would probably get a Magna flow next time.

I got the MBRP 4" turbo back duel exhaust. I got the off road one (it comes with the pipe to delete the CAT). It was easy to install even for a do-it-yourself novice like me.

Truck sounds better than it did, Exhuast gases are 200' cooler at least than they were.

I pull some pretty heavy trailers and I think it helped my power but I have no numbers to show for it.

My fuel mileage did not go up. But my wife says thats because I am on the throttle more. She thinks I stand on it more because I like to hear it......I just like everyone else to hear it.

I have the same problem! My wife just shakes her head and rolls her eyes. I love seeing the look on peoples faces when they hear the whistle. Priceless.
