jayco

Hi everyone, hope all is well. I presently have a Sunline 267SR and we really like the layout of the camper and the quality in which it was built. But my kids are outgrowing the bunks and so the search for a new camper. The campers I am interested in are the Jayco 314BHDS Eagle and the Prowler 2802BDS. My question to you all is how are these two manufacturers in quality and your overall satisfaction with your RV's. Thanks for your responses.

No first hand knowledge of the Jayco, but I've only heard good things about them. Good quality and the company is very good for warranty issues.
Prowler, we have one. Very pleased with it (2001 26H). Good quality and very well built. Only been two issues in the last 8 years. Wiring corrosion in the 12V system near the main breakers up near the battery and a seal on the outside storage locker door. Both really minor issues. Not sure if I can do this, but check out rv.net for more info on both.

Jayco, I would definately recomend them, they make a great trailer. I have an 2007 Jay Flight 30RLS 5th-wheel. I have not had any issues with my trailer except I had to reseal the shower 1 time. I researched for a year to a year an a half before I bought mine. Go to some RV shows & check out different floor plans. However, I would not hesitate to buy another Jayco product.

Thanks for your responses. I have been to two RV shows in the last few weeks and I have decided on a 2009 Jayco Eagle 324 BHDS. All I have to do now is pay for the thing, Jaycos' aren't cheap. However I do see better quality than most RV's.

I own a Jayco.

I am fortunate to live in Indiana and was able to tour the Jayco plant last July.

What a great facility. The people that work at Jayco are awesome from what I saw.

Also I have spoken with one customer service rep over an issue that we were trying to figure out under warranty. The dealer was stumped and thankfully I was camping near the plant one weekend and left the TT there for them to work on first hand. They solved the issue and really went above and beyond to take care of my troubles.

In fact they donate some small goodies for our Excursion/Ford Truck rally too (hats, shirts, can coolies, and the like)...so they are an incredible company to deal with and really stand behind their products from what I have seen first hand. Not saying Prowler doesn't...I have no first hand knowledge...and my friends that have a Prowler are very happy with theirs...

We tug a Jayflight 31BHDS and I only have 2 daughters...but I can tell you that having that back bunkhouse slide for 'their space' is really nice! My daughters tend to bring friends with them on our trips...so we rarely have just the two of them...the layout is a welcome one when the outside weather is less than friendly.

I assume you have a dualie pickemup as a TV since these TT's require more than your average 1/2 ton to haul them around.

Good luck,
Joe.

Good luck...

X HEMI Guy, I usually hang around the v10 forum since I have a 2008 cc long bed v10. I got rid of my diesel dually about a year ago. I love the v10 the thing is a beast. It is good to know there are still RV dealers out there who stand behind their product and are willing to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction.
