storage space
have 2004 f150 4 door
it has a big fold down armrest in the front seat
there is a way to lift up the upholstered part of the middle part of the seat (under the armrest) to access the storage space underneath
I can't figure out how to get access to this storage space & it isn't mentioned in the manual
if anyone knows how to do this please let me know
thanks
Spike

(These pictures are from one of ChrisAdams' galleries.) This is what the storage area looks like:

To remove the seat, one must pull the front up FIRMLY. It's a tight fit. The center seat has two straight prongs which fit into the rubber grommets at the left of the picture (one is above the Superchips logo). The back of the seat has two angled prongs -- just move the front of the seat up to a 30 degree angle or so and slide it forward slightly.
I keep my jumper cables under there -- it's a tight fit. I would recommend that area for things which you only need once every few weeks. Be aware that there's an electronics box under the floor covering, so no anvils.
Good luck,
I put the truck in 4x4 high range this morning & a couple miles down the road noticed the dash light wasn't on
the dash lite works when it cycles the gauges on start up and it lights for a fraction of a second when you first switch to 4H but it doesn't stay lit
I had an issue before when it wanted to stay in 4L and it seems a bit flaky between 2wd & 4H - the dash switch controls somwething electrically on the transfer case??
any ideas as to what is going on??
thanks
Sheldon
