New kid on the block (79 mud bog truck)

Hey, new on the site figured I'd stop in and say hi. I'm from Alberta, been runnin my truck in the mud bog competitions for about 5 years now and constantly buildin on the truck. Right now I have the engine (460) tore down for a rebuild but havent decided which way to go with it. It will be getting a solid roller cam, flat top pistons, H beam rods and a victor intake for sure, but the rest is still undecided. I have a C6 tranny, with a 2600 stall, likely be going to a 3500-4000 stall by spring. B&M ratchet shifter and a stage 2 shift kit. Dana 60 axles, detroits, 4.88s, 39.5 boggers, NP205 tcase, 6" suspension, 3" body lift, and a fairly straight body. RCI fuel cell, griffin rad, flex-a-lite efans, and dual optimas sittin in the box. Thats just the brunt of the truck, I could get into more detail but it'd be a lot of reading!! LOL

Heres some pics.

Welcome aboard; nice tough truck; reminds me of the days I would spend all weekend mudding and then the rest of the time cleaning!
Love the way the front grille is painted & stripped.
Again welcome........

Nice truck!! If you are buying new pistons and rods you just as well stroke it and get some more cubes. More cubes, bigger cam, so forth and so on. Altogether = MORE HORSEPOWER!!

cool truck man. I think I've seen your truck on you tube as well wheeling the snow. It made me jealous at the time until this winter here in rainy victoria bc we got about a foot of snow and I took my 73 out with 44's for the first time and it went anywhere. Anyways welcome to the site I bounce between this 73-79 forum and the offroad one. There's a ton of info and guys who know so much on our trucks it's ridiculous...

Hey thanks for the warm welcome, I really appreciate it. Once I get a chance, I'll start a winter '09 build thread and show everyone whats going on with the truck this year. My first competition is coming up in May so I gotta buckle down and get this stuff rollin!!

Heres a link to my youtube page, you'll find all sorts of vids on the truck. In cab cruisin and mud runs, wheelin, mud racin, burnouts etc etc
Enjoy

Nice Truck!

How do you like those TrickFlow heads? I'm considering building up a 460 and I'm still weighing my options on which heads to go with.

And, if you don't mind, what kind of cam (specs? or model #?) are you running? If it's secret (or just something you'd rather not share openly) then I understand.

Any tips on C6 mods?

Is that Hydraulic hose I see as your radiator hose? That should last a long time. No alternator either. That must be one wild ride!
