I have never done, but other people on here say it's easy, and it's about 12 phillips screws around the pad. Some people remove it to work on stuff behind the dash.

Exactly right, 12 philips screws is all that holds the dash pad on.

Three hold the instrument cluster bezel.

Two hold the radio bezel.

Three above the glove box door, under the lip of the dash pad.

Two in the left defroster vent opening.

Two in the right defroster vent opening.

-------------------------

Replacement Pads are still avaliable at Ford last time I checked. But they are only avaliable in Charcoal Grey.

The Dash Pads are swappable.

Very easy. Had it out on my 1984 a couple of times. If you have the chrome looking trim running across the middle just use a small screwdriver to pop out one end then just pull it out. It has several spring clips that hold it on.

It is very easy, but for those who are just removing yours to get at the wiring,be very careful cause most dash pads are fragile and will easily crack if not handled carefully. The sun and Dash pads do not get along at all.lol.
