Removing Side Bed Caps (Rails)?

Hello All,

I have ordered the Brite-Tread side bed caps and tailgate protector from Dee Zee truck accessories.

My question is for anyone who has removed the factory side bed caps and tailgate protector. I am assuming that they are just snap-on with maybe some double stick tape and pulling on them with a lot of elbow grease will get them off (without bed damage).

Any advise on the best and easiest way to remove them will be appreciated.

Thank You,

Brett

Hi Brett,

The side bed caps will snap off pretty easily, and if you look under the rail you can see the tabs.

To remove the tailgate protector, first remove the tailgate access panel, which is the flat metal piece inside the tailgate that's held on by about 6-8 bolts. The tailgate protector is held on by some snap-rivets, just pull those out and that's it.
Have fun!
