It should, the bolt pattern for 351Ms/400s is the same as the 460, maybe thats why some call it a big block ?
The 351C had a bolt pattern the same as the 351W and 302 I believe
Some very early 400s had the 302/351w pattern, the rest had the 385 series pattern, which would include all 351ms, as they were years later than the intro of the 400.
We can go on for pages about BB/SB, but the series ID is the more important. 351m and 400s have a tall block (taller than the FE), but have the small block (289/302/351c & w) bore spacing.
Yes it is the same as a 460. Just check the converter center snout make sure you have the right one the bore size one the crank is a couple mm difference
everything in quotes is just wrong, the rest could be wrong, I mean 351m -400 only ran till 82, 400 are 400s no m, the m was to distnguish 351s, so if you think you have an 84 400m you could have also a 351m and thats if you distinguish between them....
