Let me know when you get things going tomorrow. lol I bet you might have to do some "tweeking" with the carb after you change the jets. I think that is the problem with mine is that its out of adjustment after changing jets. So...it runs better and has more power with the edelbrock? the problem is def. within the carb??
well i re-jeted the holley...to 64 now it stumbles at slow take offs. as long as i give it moe throttle it wont, grrrr. and i advanced my timing all the way untll it would not start and then backed it up a bit. it still has a bad gas smell. basicly it burns your eyes when you are behind the truck. so i guess i will be driving it to KS tomorrow 467miles but good thing is i wont be at 6000ft lol KS is only 993ft so i will cont. working and adj. there.
so what do you guys think?? It still smells bad but i got about 7MPG from colorado springs CO to Junction City KS. but i drove about 65mphand i have 40inch tires with stock 4.11 gearsso i think this thing is about tuned as it will be. Still stumbles on take offs, you think i should jet it up????
stumble on take-off is the accelerator pump shot, it needs more. either a different pump cam on the primary throttle shaft and/or a larger shooter nozzle orifice. assuming the accel pump is adjusted correctly? (hint, it's adjusted at full throttle with the engine off)
well, i can't find it on the holley page and they don't go into it there either, so...
basically what you want is for the accel pump linkage spring to be as long as possible without bottoming the lever under the spring at full throttle. is your accel pump linkage a little loose now? a correctly adjusted linkage will be "into the pump" slightly at idle, but like a said, not bottoming the lever at WOT, so as not to stretch or tear the pump diaphragm.
