my 87 150 4.9 i was setting the timing and i noticed that at tdc compression stroke the timing mark on the crank pulley was at 6 o'clock or at the bottom no where near the timimg plate that indicates btdc or atdc or tdc. does anyone know why? the truck runs ok but i want to make sure the timing is set right.
theres a notch in the dampner and i unhooked the the pip spout connector and checked the timing and it just runs sluggish, and if you run it on the highway for about 20 mins. it wants to shut down and when you sit for a min. it will run fine. do you think its the ecm on the distrb. is it getting hot and shutting the truck down. id really like to get this thing running top notch if i could with no problems.
