Obviously, unless your being T-boned by a vehicle equal to or greater than the mass a 1/2 ton truck your risk of personal injury is smaller. All the more reason to build these trucks as stout as possible.
This forum is full of posts bashing the '09 for it's engines, it's looks and whatever else. But, I think Ford has come up with the right equation on this one.
after getting rear-ended 2 weeks back, I'll never drive a small vehicle again, and only a highly rated big vehicle. it was an under 30 mph impact and I drove home. That Prius was towed to a wrecking yard. Something similar might happen in the F-150, but at least me and mine will go home safely.
