Hi all,
I was under my truck looking at the steering stabilizer, when I noticed that it was damp with oil. So was the steering linkage above it and the front of the oil pan. Where is this leak coming from? I did take the HPOP resevior cover off when I was replacing the EBPS. I thought I sealed it pretty well with RTV silicone, but could this be the source of the leak?
Thanks
I looked closer, and I was 99% sure that was the leak source, so I removed it. Now I'm cleaning up the flange. I was using Permatex Gasket Remover. Do you think if a little spray of this stuff got in the hole it could do damage to any internals?
Rick, I had to remove the cover because I bent it while removing the old EBPS... long story. Maybe I'm not calling it the right name, its the oval shaped cover/bracket that the EBP tube and EBPS are connected to.
Thanks
Are you sure it's oil? It could be fuel mixing with the grime on the engine block. When my fuel bowl drain valve started to leak it dripped down the passenger side of the engine directly onto my stabilizer before pooling on the ground.
