anti-thief device - brake lock system

I am looking for an anti-thief system that worked by locking the brakes. Basically, you stepped on the brakes, turned a keyed lock on the floor and the brakes were locked until

1) you turned the key again
2) someone ripped out the brake lines.

It was a metal box with valves and key cyl. that did not have any fancy electronics like some of the newer ones. Actually, I use to sell them, but, that was 15 years ago and now I can not find them anywhere for my "new" 1971 F-100 that I want to protect.

Does anyone have any leads, I have tried various search engines etc.
It works like a linke lock, except with a key.

Thank you in advance for any leads.

I've heard that this type of brake lock is really useful for launching boats with standard trans. vehicles. Much more secure than just the parking brake.

I just finished installing and testing it tonight. Man, with four drum brakes, it is solid. With my granny low (6:67) and 390 all I did was stall the engine trying to move the truck with the lock engaged.

One tip: When installing this device, if the (incoming) front brake line is going to the top, then the outgoing front brake line has to be on the top. Or look at it as being on the same side of the device.

Excellent for checking for leaks. I left it on overnight and noticed one of my lines I flared had a small leak. There was a minute crack from the flaring so I redid it.

Whadda ya think so far? I love mine on my ranger. No more questioning whether the parking brake cable will hold or not!

I am loving it so far! That reminds me, I have to feedback on the person that gave me the url!

I now own a Ford that I know will not slip down a hill backwards with the brakes set

It was a lot of work to replace the whole brake system (except the eq. valve) and then fit the lock in too. I did luck out in one respect. There was a hole in the firewall exactly the same size as the body of the lock. So, I removed the fittings and slid it right through. I put a box of 1/8 steel over it with a hole just big enough for the key to fit and turn. This was to hold it securely to the firewall and prevent anyone from nuking it with a 32oz Ford wrench.

One thing I did notice, turning the key takes some effort with the brakes held down. Now I know why they have such a big key!

I think between this, an alarm, and steering wheel club it will be too much effort and take too long to steal it out a mall without towing it. But, you never know. If someone wants it bad enough they can probably figure out how to steal it.

One tip to anyone else, start tightening the lines closest to the firewall first!

One more thing to note. You mentioned it was hard to turn the key with the brakes depressed. That is true because you are turning the valve against the flow of the brake fluid. The best way to do it is to turn the key before you brake at all, then apply the brakes after the key is in the locked position. Then it will turn with almost no effort at all. I had it down to a science, pull up the hill, twist the key while accelerating up the hill to the parking spot, roll up to a stop, then hit the brakes just before I started rolling back down, perfect.

Hey, that works much better, I shouldn't read the docs sometimes.

Mine is on the firewall behind the brake pedal, I don't think I could be brave or limber enough for that routine! It is tough enough to get to with the truck stopped.
