I am in the process of building one almost done actually but i was just wondering if anyone else has done this any pics around i will post pics tomorrow
I did, I have the 40-20-40 buckets with the center fold down seat back that makes a center console, well I made a console that continues on down to the floor and leaves just enough room to get to the 12v power outlet and ashtray.
It houses a 12 in sub woofer, 200w class D sub amp, 400w 4 channel amp, plus the CD changer.
The hardest part of the deal was parting with a little over $100.00 for matching material to cover it with, of course I had to try to be fancy and get both cloth to match my seats and vinyl to match the door panels..
I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to post, I keep meaning to get a few shots, but I just never seem to get it done. I made the console over 3 years ago, you think it has been long enough?
Pay no attention to the crud, it is winter, and I work out of this truck, it will get cleaned up when I get time on a warm day!!
I'm not an upholsterer, it was done on my kitchen table.. It's a little rough but most of the rough don't show up really well.. But it holds my crap!!!
I think it looks pretty good. I might consider doing something like that myself.
With the weight of the electronics and the fact it is a very close fit, it stays right there.. Guess I just got lucky, but it has been sitting right there over 3 years and has not moved yet...
Im going to start building a fiberglass one soon to house 2 12" Kicker L7 subs and have cupholders and some storage space. Cant wait to get started. Where did you get all your fiberglass supplies?
