After alot of looking around at different light bars, only found one that came close to what I was looking for, and it had a $200+ shipping price tag so I figured why not just build my own and be done with it. Bought 2 pieces of 4''x12''x.250'' plate steel at Lowes. Made a cardboard template and traced it onto the plate steel. Used just a standard jig saw with metal blades to cut them out. Had a piece of 1.625'' chromo tube layin around so bent it up, tigged it together, made a few light mounting tabs and here she is. Grand total including paint was about $40 bucks. Let me know what you think. Oh and the lights are just Hella 500's I snagged at wally world for $60 a pair.
Its drying as we speak! Its going to get powder coated but my guy cant get to it until next week and Im going on vacation fri so I wanted something on it for the mean time.
That looks awesome. I was thinking of building one just like it because I can't afford the commercial ones. I want to mount 4 LightForce lights, but I haven't bought them yet; getting laid off sure changed my plans.
