hey guys...
i finally bought my ex...03 limited V10. so far, one day, i love it. so far the only thing i have a problem with is the brakes. is there something wrong with mine or does everyones not stop well? as i drive, it seems like the brakes really dont work well. plenty of pedal and pad, just no stoppping power. is this common? or do i have a problem? thanks alot
welcome to the club ... the ex is a beast ... she weighs alot ... best bet would have the brakes look at by a good mechanic ... most folks here will tell you to upgrade both the rotors ( slotted and drill ) and a set of hawk brand pads on all four wheels... if you read on through the forum you'll see some common problems but most will say that the wouldn't any thing but an EX.
Welcome to the Excursion club. When I first got my 2000 it would not stop for beans! It had been sitting for awhile. After driving it some it did start to stop better. Seems there was a glaze of some kind on the brakes that wore off after awhile. Now it's just fine. Do some hard braking to see if that does the trick.
