The dually has the Dana-80 rear end. Different wheel design, spacers in front and back, larger blocks in the back, heaver weight capacity. And a bigger number, 350.
It may be different today, but back in the 7.3 days, if they're both single-wheel rear axles, the differences are:
1. Thickness of the spacer blocks between the rear differential housing spring pads and the springs (350 is 4 inches, 250 is about two inches) and the length of the U-bolts for them. Thus the rear sits a little higher. Though I've never checked, the rear shocks may be slightly different lengths, too. I believe the rear brake line flex hose is the same.
2. The chrome "badges" on the fenders and tailgate.
3. The GVW rating on the door pillar sticker (and whatever some DMV wants to make of it for annual charges, etc.
