Computer problems...

Alright, last weekend my roommate got a virus that completely killed his hard drive so he had to get that fixed. well within a day i ended up with a virus that is just killing my computer but i think that Norton is keeping it under control enough where it doesnt cause complete system failure. Heres my problem, i have run the programs they say to use and the one that a friend of ours who works with computers mentioned but it is not getting the virus off. Does anyone have insight on a virus called Trojan.Brisv.A!inf and how to get rid of it? Im at school right now so i can not drop it off to him but maybe this weekend if we cant get it off i can send it back when i meet up with my parents. Is anyone able to help me out here or am i just screwd? Thanks

1. Google Trojan.Brisv.A!inf from a known 'clean' pc.
2. Go to Malwarebytes.com (on a 'clean' pc) and download the program, "Malwarebytes" (FREE!) to a flashdrive.
3. Boot infected pc, install and run Malwarebytes.

That should eradicate that pig.

You may have to run the pc in "Safe Mode" first. Then run it in "Normal Mode".

You can try what Blueovalranger posted...

Make sure you are up to date on Norton..

Also check out the write up on the virus..

Trojan.Brisv.A!inf | Symantec

Norton has a removal tool that you can download and it will remove it..

go to "run" type in "msconfig", enter, select selective start-up, turn off system restore ( if u dare) and try removal procedure again.

Warning this is just my idea, and I'm not a pro.

AND this virus seems to be marked as a "low Threat" and easily contained, don't be surprised if you have other bugs!

Majorgeeks.com...lots of good bug removal tips there.
