I have 07 Escape, and ever since I purchase this vehicle the tires, have all had slow leaks. Ive had the tires checked 3 or 4 times, and to no avail. Ive also inspected them for nails etc in them and have never fount anything. I've also had the valve stems replaced 2 or 3 times. Any other suggestions or anyone had this problem?
Sounds like a problem with when the beads were set to the rims - very odd. You might have the tires removed from the wheels, inspect the bead area of the wheel and tire and remount. You've looked at the other possibilities.
Are the steel wheels or no? If they are steel there could be some issues with the bead of the tire itself. If they are aluminium rims then there most likely is a corrosion issue. I would pull the tires, clean the rims good down to bare metal and then use bead sealer when reinstalling the tires. Once that is done there should be no leaks barring a nail or cracked valve stem.
Have that problem with 2006 purchased in December. Mine loose a lot the colder it is. In my case it's the aluminum rims. Dealership has torn down, cleaned rims and re mounted tires 3x. One has sealed. They are going to do it again this week - there is a new aluminum wheel sealer available. My rims have some corrosion.
I do have steel wheels, but there is no corrosion. I have had them checked out by tire vendors that I use for work. None of them find a problem. The beads look fine too. I do lose more in the winter months, but I understand that is common. Even on the big truck tires we lose air pressure in the cold. I think it could have just been a bad batch of rubber when the tires were made. They are not name brand, and thankfully in the next 6 months or so I will have used all there tread life up.
I had the same problem on my wife's escape. it came with the factory contenantal tires. I could not keep air in them. finaly they wore out and i got a set of good year fortera's. not only did the leaks stop but the road noise as well. I highly recomend them.
