Last night and throughout the morning here in the Killdeer, North Dakota area, we received a good bit of snow. The snow just loves to drift over the roads up to 3-4ft. I began driving my Ex out to our jobsite about half an hour out of town, and got a call from the boss to pick up a couple of guys who couldnt get out in their work truck. Poor saps had an '09 Chevy HD 2500 and as we all know, those trucks have about the same ground clearance as a lowrider.
After I picked them up and we were on our way, I got another call from the boss. He had thrown his serpentine belt while busting a drift across the road. What do you know... he also drives an '09 Chevy HD 2500. Anyway, he got it back on and was rolling before we got to him. Got another call that ANOTHER Chevy had thrown its belt. This time it was an '05 1500. I drove out to him and got him going, busting drifts the whole time.
Then the boss told me to park my personal vehicle and get in one of the company trucks to begin hauling fuel to our earth moving machines. I had to take his dang truck, and HOLY CRAP...... I got stuck TWICE in that hunk of junk. I spent 50 minutes digging myself out of a ditch in the blowing snow.
Drove back to town (in my Ex) at the end of the day via a different route, again busting drifts... not once did I come close to getting stuck or thrown off the road.
Cant tell me that Ford doesnt own Chevy and Dodge.
Too Bad it wasn't Howie (anyone see that new Chubby commercial) Just after he said,"Hey Buddy,,your little man step is down",,,,Would love to see him in an 09' POS with problems like this !
Oh yeah... I was at the transmission shop yesterday to get my fluids changed and what did I see in their lot?? Chevy, chevy, chevy, dodge and of course chevy. Oh, I did forget, there was one other ford...the owner's truck parked out front...lol
Best truck I have ever had...245K km and everything was perfect, the gear oil (never changed) was a little dirty but everything else was perfect!
