Help me convert my seats

I just bought and installed some lariat leather seats from a 04 f550. Both of them are power and heated. I have a 99 f350 with just the drivers side power. What do I need to do to get the Passanger side to work fully(heat and power) I would imgaine that I have to get the wiring harness and install it.
For the drivers side can I modify the plug that is already there, do they make adaptors to go from the small plug to the large. How hard is splicing in a new pluug.
Thanks
Bubba

if i were you i would go to junkyard and maybe get the wires and plug for PS, and cut the old plug off, than solder the wires and heatshrink them, better than splicing wires.
and its possible to use separate wire for heat but the same wire for power seats, as long as you wont use them both power seats at the same time. heat you going to have to use separate fuse for sure. , and make sure you use proper gauge wire, and best if you put a shield on them too....

good luck
BTW dont make adapters , less connections to fail and cause problems...

I do still have access to the harness off the truck that I got the seats. The truck was totalled, and the plugs that obviously fit are still there.
Is it worth it to go pull them out of the totalled truck and install them in my truck?

yes if you can, pull as much harness as you can this way you can run them up all way to the fuse box where you going to make your connections.
do it asap. can get better than that for sure, beets making things up , and trying to match the connectors...

Very good to hear.

To keep this back on topic I agree about getting as much of that old harness as possible. Way easier to wire up then.

It looks like to me you could splice into the driver side harness,if you can find a plug that will plug into the passenger side. I don't see a problem doing this, unless both seats are being adjusted at the same time, them it may blow a fuse....Thats what I would do

I'm up for doing that. The only problem I might see is if the heaters are on at the same time. Would this be a problem?

If anything els give Ed a call over at FTE Parts Guy. He has access to all the parts you would need from your '99 and the '04. He might be able to help you figure out what you need from both.

That Im not sure about. I wouldn't think so,it would be kinda like the towing mirrors with heat, but they only draw 1.4 amps. Im sure someone with more knowledge about this will chime in soon. IMO I don't think it would though..

thats why i said you can run power seats but not the heaters on the same line, cause one day you turn then both on , and blow the fuse and or burn the wire. make sure you dont put bigger fuse each time it blows, cause those wires cannot handle 3a of current for to long and insulation will start melting, and that leads to more problems.
you can run the wire from the bat with the fuse rated for the same current like the one in you DS seat. that would be the best...but use relay or ACC power to make sure you dont kill you bats while keeping your butt worm.. LOL
