2000 power stroke mod questions
help!!! I have a 2000 f250 psd, there are so many different tuning mods out there it is difficult to choose the right one. So far i have done the 6637 mod, i will be doing a 4 inch turbo back exhaust straight pipe (no muffler) next week. The last thing i want to do is a programer or a chip, i have read about the edge evolution, super chips cortex, dp tuners, ts performance, banks etc... So what do you guys recomend? Thanks

Count me among that minority that DIDN'T follow the popular advice and buy DP. I got an Edge Evolution II because: 1) I needed gauges 2) I wanted a tuner and 3) I wanted something that could read and clear codes. It does all that, tho the "tuner" part is not as good as DP's. I was willing to live with the tuner because I could always add a DP later and I'd still have the gauges and code reader.
What I recently learned wouldn't be a significant problem for most: the Evo has a current draw of 90 milliamps when the truck is off. I go for weeks sometimes between trips using this truck and combined with some other little current phantom "leaks" (another 90ma for a total of 180ma) , my batteries (new) don't have enough juice to start the truck after sitting for two weeks (not unusual for me).
For now, I'm leaving the Evolution disconnected (it just plugs into the OBDII port) until those times I'm towing and need the gauges. Not a big deal but an inconvenience.
On hindsight, I wish I'd bought a set of pillar gauges and a DP. And something to read and clear codes. A set of pillar gauges wouldn't be sucking up battery juice when the truck is parked.

On the DP there appears to be many programs you can run and it looks like you buy those programs al la carte. If this is correct what programs are people running.
Think im sold on the DP after reading many posts on this-- the edge looks cool and has gauges-- but performance comes first for me.
