Hey everyone, been lurking for the last couple of weeks since I bought my F250, wanted to say that I like the site very much, and that there are some cool folks here.
I'm sure that I'll spend the most technical time here at the old body style forums. Thanks, great resource!
My beast is a '97 F250 HD with 202,800 miles on her 5.8L / E40D. I'm retiring her from work, and she should live a leisurely life from here on out.
I've had many Fords in my 27 years of driving, and I've never had one strand me yet. Great machines if you take care of them.
well welcome to FTE. Glad to hear you like the site. you will easily find many people full of knowledgable help. Any questions you can probably find the answer on by using the search feature. Its the first place to go to find answers. If not able to find on there post a thread for it. Well once again welcome.
Thanks, will do. Fortunately, I've got most of the repairs done. 'The Beast' runs like a champ. Did a complete tune, oil change, and she sailed through the emissions testing...
I think I got a good deal spending $1500 to buy her, however, I did have to replace all of the tie rods, and replace all of the AC components. When it's all said, and done, I'll have about $5000 into her (includes wheels, minor bodywork).
I intend to keep the truck for a long time as I really like the body style (better than the newer trucks, IMO), so I figure if I need to put an engine, transmission, and/or differential, in it in the next 50,000 miles, I'm OK with that.
It appears that 'The Beast' is a pretty common nick name for a truck, so I think I'll have to get a little creative and select a new name...
yeah its a quite common nickname. my old F100 was little Frankenstein it was a freak of nature. Still trying to come up with a nickname for my Flareside. Just got it less than a month ago
