You may want to also consider one of the later model OE Ford radios, such as the 2007 Escape Audiophile. It is 6 CD in dash, 85 Watts without external amp, supports external amp and sub-woofer, sattelite ready, has all of the "audiophile" features, and is a perfect physical fit. The only thing you need is a $30.00 cable adapter for a plug and play fit. If you want the EO look, this is as good as it gets. If you want blue tooth, etc., aftermarket is the way to go.
yep, a double din will fit with some minor trimming to the dash. there are 2 strips ( top and bottom) in the radio opening that have to be trimmed out. You will need a double din adapter to bolt in the radio. It wasn't that hard on mine. I put a Pioneer AVH-4000 DVD unit in mine. I'll have pics up soon.

Double din adapter?? What is that?? Can i make it or is it a dash kit??
What size unit are you installing? The double DIN adapter is for installing a single DIN unit into the stock location. A double DIN unit should fit right in with the afore mentioned trimming and no adapter.
I am looking at a double din DVD. I also saw that they have a dash kit for it for the year of my truck. I didnt think i needed it, but why do they have on?? Like you have all said.....it will fit with a little trimming, but was confused why they have this dash kit.
The double din adapter attaches to the side lips in the factory radio opening and mount to the radio. It also comes with a trim piece to fit around the front of the radio (it's very thin)
Trim the top and bottom lips on the dash flush with the rest of the dash but don't trim the lips on the sides. This kit attaches the radio to those lips so it has to be there. I did this with a Kenwood DDX-6019 in my 99 Super Duty and it worked great.
