Double DIN in Excursion?
I have read a lot about this and seen many answers. Looking for a definitive answer. Have you installed or seen a Double DIN head unit installed in an Excursion? I am considering the Alpine Double Din, but want to know if it fits. Some have said that actually mounting it is very difficult and that some cutting is required.
How much cutting and to what? Any pictures?
How was it mounted?
Was any custom fabrication required?

Check my galery for pics of a Pioneer double din in a 2004Ex. Search for my posts on this. Install about 1 hour. You need to slightly enlarge dash opening and buy a mounting kit. Don't forget to loose the cheap factory speakers, all 6 can be replaced with aftermarket 6x8's.

Same as everyone else except I did the kenwood double DIN. Check my gallery for pics before the trim ring was completed.
The triming to the dash is very minor, all you have to do is trim the lip that is located about an inch inside the opening.
