Some of you may remember a few months back I posted the upgrades I planned on doing to my '72 F-100. This weekend I was able to swap out the OE front drums for a disc brake set-up from a '76. I swapped control arms, axle beams, the whole nine yards. I then removed the master cyl & installed the brake booster/master cylinder assembly from the donor vehicle.
I have a question regarding the proportioning valve. The valve has one line for the rear & two for the front. My truck has only one front brake line going to the master cylinder. Can I run one line provided I plug the other in the master cylinder? OR do I have to run a seperate line for each caliper?
Any input would be helpful.

did you pull the stock prop valve off the frame rail? You should have two lines going from the master down to the frame where the stock valve is. The one i pulled off this weekend had two inlets and 3 outlets off a 71.
replaced it with this one. it has two outlets for the front but one comes capped off so you can run a T in the line if you want.
Yes. it's the stock valve. Since my brake lines already have a T in them I was planning on capping the one outlet, just like you have. It looks like your is an aftermarket piece, can the OE unit be capped off as well? If not, why not?

There is supposed to be a line from the Porp. valve to each front disc, not from a single split line.
2 things NEVER to cut corners on and thats breaks and steering! without those to things making it move is a waist of time. just run ya seperet lines to each wheel in front,that way if you blow out a rubber line the other side will still work. break lines are cheap so why not do it rite?
