I'm having some starting wierdness I need some help with. The engine won't fire while I'm cranking it, but the second I release the key it fires. It doesn't do it all the time but it seems to act up when the engine is at operating temp. My truck is a 72 F-100 2wd with a 302. It has electronic igniton from a later, unknown year retrofitted to it. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

I'm thinking maybe the contact for the "run" position is not gettting juice when you turn it to "start", then get's juice when it drops back to the "run" position....
It sounds like the coil is not getting full ( Voltage ) when the switch is in the start position!
Also you said you changed the ignition, if you by chance are running a bigger ( Coil ) or
a racing type (Coil) you may want to wire it where it gets and stays at full (Voltage) at start up
and while it is running.
