I'm building a 79 F250 4x4, and I can't find the paint code for the original color. It's a med/dark blue metallic, and the sticker on the post has the codes there but the manufacturer did not list any code. My father had a 79 F350 Explorer that was dark blue, this color is a little lighter and I would like to keep it as the inside of the cab, and all the hard to get at places are in perfect condition. If I change the color I'd have to tear down everything to make it all match. It was a common color for these trucks but no one seems to know the name or code for it. Any info would be a big help.

Post the paint code off your warranty plate found on the driver's door.

Dark standard blues:

Midnight Blue Metallic - code "3"
Bright Dark Blue Metallic - code "S"

Glamour paint:

Medium Blue Metallic - code "8"

Light standard blues:

Light Blue - code "K"
