New bed
Hey guys, I am kinda new to this site, but there is a lot of info available here. Does anyone know what year(s) of beds will fit on a 77 F250, longbed? I've heard anything from 73 to 85. Can anyone confirm this?

well to answer your question there are many beds that will fit. the 73-79 will look like an OE style for the 77. A friend of mine put a bed from a 95 on a 78 truck. It didn't look that bad actually.

Cool, I thought I heard that before that you could use a bed from a late model truck. I will probably stay with a 73 - 79 bed for looks. I did find out there is a difference in the 2WD and 4WD beds as the 2WD frame rails are closer together and you would have to drill new holes in the 2WD bed to mount it on a 4WD frame. Thanks for the info.

For everyones info, I just called on a clean, straight bed on Craigslist for $200. It came off a 1978 camper special truck and the guy told me the wheelbase is about 6" longer on a camper special than a standard long bed. He said it would not fit mine. If anyone needs a good bed for $200 (it is super clean, very little surface rust) check out the ad on Denver Craigslist, type in "ford truck parts" and search in auto parts. Remember it will only fit a camper special. His # is 303-304-9451.
