EBPV Question

EBPV Question

The last time I used my EBPV I had my stock exhaust on the truck, I got fed up with it and unpluged it. Now that I have my Tymar DP to MBRP 4 in. straight pipe exhaust I decided to wire it up to a switch. My question is, it sounds waaaay different than the last time it was used. It sounds like my truck is going to explode! Are you sure that this is ok for the truck. I also have a 1200 RPM high idle chip setting, is it ok to run it with both on.

oh yeah, its loud and obnoxious with straigt pipe, you just never noticed it before....
here is mine, not the best sound but its hard to drive, downshift and hang the camera out the back window of an extended cab truck.

Yes it sounds exactly like that. Scared the living s*** out of me when i first flipped the switch, i thought my truck was about to explode. And it'll be fine at 1200 RPM high idle?

if you are using it for braking,lock your torque converter.

Yeh i dont use it as a trailer brake, just as a way to warm up the cab faster in these cold CT winters.

*I meant exhaust brake. Ive been working on that today too and am just a little out of it.

How do you lock your torque converter exactly? When it comes to those things and trannies i'm in the dark.

Also if i had to unplug mine epbv because it started f-in up, will it work for an exhuast brake still?

I flipped the switch today idleing and put it on high idle. egts rose to about 450ish and sound levels rose to unbearable! my neighbors are gonna love me now. I'll try and get a clip to show you guys, it's a bit rediculous.
