Trans shifting issues

Well first off sorry if this is another trans thread, but here it goes.
Today out of nowhere I noticed the shift going into over drive and the lock up was delayed and not as firm as its been for 2 years now. I have a BTS valve body, DP tuner chip, 6.0L trans cooler, Mag-hytech trans pan, and Schaffiers fluid in it. Trans and converter is a reman ford unit that was installed at 119K and truck has 155K now. Trans temp gauge has never been over 150 degree's. I have been doing some searching on here and noticed that the BTS trans is $4100. I know the truck should make it down to BTS if I decide to do it, but it just sucks that the trans seems to be going out now. Anyway I just drove the truck home and parked it. Iam going to drive it around all week and see what happeneds. Like I said to me it seems like its giving me a early warning of the trans going out, but man would it be nice if it was just me being over concerned.

Thanks for the bump. I know that the 4r100 is not all that good of a trans even behind a unmodified truck. Thats the reason I did the easy upgrades like the valve body, deep pan, 6liter trans cooler, schafiers fluid and temp gauge. Even all that still dosnt help I guess. I do drive the truck with a heavy foot but Iam allways in the DP tuner 80hp setting and never go to the 120hp or the 140hp setting.
I did take the truck out tonight and played with the chip settings and in the 120 and 140hp tune the trans slips bad. I get the trans to lock the converter (about 41mph) and slowly apply the throttle and the trans starts to slip, and seems to start to search for O/D but never really down shifts.
This is just the worst time because I just drop alot of money on parts for my boat to get it ready for this up coming season, but thats just the way things work. Iam going to call BTS tommorow and see is there is an opening for me to drive down there and maybe get this taking care of.

Yes that is what he told me. Iam at the point right now that iam unsure iam going to be able to afford the BTS trans. This is the worst time it could have happened. I know the BTS trans is the way to go 100% but as of right now Iam not sure I can come up with the $4100 plus shipping and then a core charge which I know is refunable once he gets my old trans.
I know alot will tell me not to do it but I do have a hook up with a local ford dealer and can get the Heavy Duty reman trans for $2800 and that now comes with a 3 year 100K warranty. The only down fall is if there is a failure with in the 3yr 100K warranty Iam most likely going to have to put stock exhaust and remove the chip in order to have it repaired at the dealer.

BTS is the way to go if you plan to keep the truck for a long time. Do it once and do it right or you will end up doing it again. You do realize that if it breaks in 2 yrs, he pays for shipping and after 2 yrs, you pay for shipping, right? He tells you it is the last one you will pay for and dares you to break it. JTHarvey had his from a door prize raffle. He was racing and Brian was there. Brian borrowed a truck from his customer, towed JT back and fixed it. Lets say your friendly service manager saw you racing on Sunday and sees the truck on Monday. Guess what will happen.

Ford reman? Unless I was selling it in a year or two, no. They gave us the diode in 01. I had my pedestal off a couple of times till I found a reman pedestal that worked. Their QC isn't the greatest

That is what mine started yesterday. I had it built a year ago next month. I dont look forward to talking to the builder. i have a few questions. Did yours ever like have a delayed or hard as hell 1/2 shift. I am talking ripping the rear end out type of shift mine did that a few times only when i had it on the on the floor wide open. I did it back in the summer pulling my inclosed car trailer i wander if there was a valve issue that caused this . if we do it again i was wandering if there is somthing that i should liik at. thanks crapr6 tell me any other issues i have the dp as well and trans gauge mine always said 150 until last night it got up to 180 but it was when itried to make it act up after i thought it was the covertor but it is the trans i am sure of also shar with us what brian thought was your issue . I dont have the bones for the BTS trans.

The only thing my trans started to do was out of nowhere it would slip going into overdrive and when the converter would lock also. It would happen just normal driving in the 80hp eco setting, but when I set the DP tuner to 140hp tune it would slip really bad and seems like it didnt want to shift at all. The trans temp gauge never really moves off of 100 degrees untill the dead of summer and towing my 28ft boat then it would go up to 150 degrees and never anymore then that. I parked the truck since it started to do this about 1 week ago and havn't even started the truck. Iam able to swap the trans myself at the shop on a lift its just iam waiting to save up alittle bit more money for the trans.
