In Cab Brake Controller
Have just found this forum and registered. We purchased a 2008 F350 in May 2007.
Our truck shows "Trailer Brake Module Fault" on the dash display when starting the engine. Is this a fault or a warning? Also what does Job #1, 2 or 3 build mean - ours is Job #1 build. Are there any recalls for this early 08 truck.
Thanks for any help, John
They will not have it in stock so they will have to order it but you can drive the truck till the part comes in.
Job 1, 2 or 3 refers to when the truck came off the ***. line. Job 1 is the first batch for the model year and then 2 is like a few months later and then maybe job3 if needed in the spring run.
This is common, it is due to slight changes during the production run to enhance the build or a small design change.
So depending on when your truck is manufactured that is what job you have, look at the door jam and let us know the date of man. and then will can tell you the job #
Thanks for reply.
Having problems finding a dealer in UK who will carry out diagnostics. All UK Ford dealers have the equipment but they are reluctant to work on imported trucks. Nine times out of ten wont work on them at all. However still searching for someone to do diagnostic check.
The US dealer wants the fault codes before he will replace TBC under warranty.
Date of manufacture of truck taken from door jam is 03/07.

If you check out the tech folder at the top of the 6.4 forum you will see some information regarding job# and some of the other hot topics discussed. The most recent items to be released concern a venturi tee installed for the radiator as well as a reflash of the trucks computer system to improve some driveability concerns and update the message center.
I have never seen the warning message you are getting so I believe this is something you will have to find a dealer to diagnose. Have you tried a different trailer just to be sure you dont have a bad ground (or something like that) on your trailer.
The dreaded "WIRING FAULT ON TRAILER" on the IC and the annoying BEEP came back.
I have a job #1 6.4 PSD that had this message in July 2007. Ford replaced the wiring assemble WPT 401 and the 7C3Z 14489 AA connector as outlined In the Special Service Message 19852. The Special Service Message also stated the Ford Engineering is currently investigating the problem and to monitor Oasis for an update.
Today, I has the truck back in the dealership with the same message fault and the beep. The dealership repaired the wiring harness with the same fix and parts that were used in 2007. We couldn't find any update on Oasis to indicate Ford Engineering has found a solution since July 2007.
My fear now is the trailer wiring message and the beep will return after my warranty is finished.
Does anyone have an update on this common message fault so the message fault can be fixed and not return as I fear this repair is only till the next time but with my wallet instead of the 3 year warranty?

If yours hasn't had the latter two, I'd make sure it gets them soon. These customer satisfaction programs have expiration dates which I think are at the end of the calendar year.

The nearest dealer that can perform diagnostics and reflash is near an American Air Force base at Mildenhall, Norfolk - 380 miles from us. Phoned them this morning and they can also do the recalls. Yes, we also get "Wiring Fault on Trailer" and "Trailer Disconnected" but these messages cancel when we plug in trailer.

Which sensor did Ford replace?

The dealer mentioned above can do 08B06 and 08B07. I will get these done as soon as I can. Does 08B06 involve a new part?

Changes the message display when you go into regen and improves shift points for the auto trans.

You had me concerned Senix. I thought I'd gone bonkers. I went back and checked and it's not me.
08B06 is the venturi T customer satisfaction program. 08B07 is the reflash that changes regen message and does some other things to PCM & TCM.

This is the venturi T.
Senix, I think what you are referring to is the original letter (July 2008) to the dealers that only included vehicles still in inventory. Ford later (oct/nov 2008) opened this up to include all sold vehicles as well.
WK57ABF, in the tech folder is a complete write up about the venturi tee. At the time Ford wasnt offering this as a customer satisfaction program and a lot of us were doing it ourselves. But it will show you what the dealer will be doing when you take it in.
