my passenger side brake line rubbed against the tire and blew while i was trying to stop at a red light..thank god there was no one in front of me cause she didnt stop to good!!i got the new line on but i dont like how close it is to the tire still.can anyone post a pic of how close their pass. brake line is to the tire so i wont worry so much....thanks
Mine didn't rub through, but I did have to change my front hoses due to leakage at the crimp. I thought that was very odd. Brake hoses usually seem to last forever. I have an 89.
OH. I just thought about this - I didn't think about the hose lines on the front! Anyhow, that being said, it shouldn't be very close to the tire or wheel at all - maybe an inch away at the closest, that I know of. Are you running larger tires on stock or aftermarket wheels? The backspacing and offset on the wheels coupled with the tire size might be an issue.
yea the new line i got from oreilys was off by a country mile, when i turned the wheel to lock it rubbed the tire.so i did some creative bending with the new line(very carefully)and bent it enough to where it now clears beautifully!
Hmm. Wonder if they gave you the 'wrong' part or an extended brake line vice a stock replacement. That's odd. Was it longer than the one you pulled off?
