1st post - Water pump question
Good day to all. My first post here.
I need a question or two answered about changing my water pump, if someone could help.
Truck is a 98 Ranger XLT; 3.0.
I understand that the air compressor on the drivers side has to be lifted to get to a hidden bolt on the water pump.
I pulled the two bolts facing up on the side of the compressor; then got two out of the front. There is one more and I have to remove the belt tensioner to get to it. Therein lies the question (s).
The bolt in the center of the tensioner seems to be 8mm (not the bigger bolt in the wheel the belt rolls on).
Since it is so small I don't want to break or strip it.
Is this the right bolt, to start with for removing the tensioner?
Is it right threaded, just coming out normally?
