Last weekend, I stumbled on a truck that I bought new in the fall of 1995. It was my first new vehicle, first Ford truck, and the vehicle my wife and I took on our first date as well as our honeymoon. I found it for sale at a second-hand car lot, hundreds of miles from where I sold it 11 years ago. It had 100,000 more miles on it than when I sold it (183,000 total) but otherwise looked identical. Same radio, original paint, perfect interior, and just a handful of scratches. Even the motor (302) was strong, quiet, and did not smoke. It was surreal -- the darn thing looked just like it did when I last saw it -- just different tires. Over the years, I have actually had dreams about this truck - dreams that I found it in my own garage as if I just misplaced it.
I brought it home yesterday. The new Escape is now relegated to the driveway as my new/old truck has the best spot in the garage.
I've made a dozen or so trips to the garage to have another look..
Oh, and it's a 95 SWB XLT, Sapphire Blue.
I had to tell somebody who would care -- my wife is tired of hearing about it, and none of my kids have a clue!
hey good luck for you-like finding a long lost friend-hope ya can keep it in the area next time ya sell it-or just do like I do I drive em till they are good for nothing but scrap!

How do you know you're not dreaming right NOW? Think about it: you could say to yourself--but it seemed so real...I even posted about it on FTE!
Just kiddin' man...or maybe I'm sharing your dream? I was hopin' your story would end the way it did--with the truck in your garage.
I'm a little bummed that your wife doesn't seem to share your enthusiasm, though--this truck went on your first date, and honeymoon, with you, after all! And us men are always getting knocked for not being "romantic" enough, right? LOL
It is spooky that you used to dream about your truck, and now it's come home--I think that's a really cool story, actually. In a couple of years, I will have had my first pickup for 30 years, so I can appreciate your situation.
