Steering shaft flex joint
Question - on my 77 f150 4x4 i have some slop on my steering shaft flex joint. I searched the old forums and found that people have replaced these with aftermarket units from summit or borgeson. The forums were over a year old though and was wondering if this is what people are still doing. I have a photo of mine below.
Looks like the flex joint is just sloppy. Do i need to replace the entire unit?
Does the vibration damper aftermarket model really help?

Most everyone is still using borgeson joints as replacements.
Making new steering shafts are a breeze. Notice that the splines on the column are common with different makes and models so finding a donor in a salvage yard is not difficult either.

Obsolete parts vendor GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has ONE: 800-543-4959.
No Ford Dealer or other obsolete parts vendor has any.
These couplers have been hard to find for many years.

No Ford dealer has it, Green Sales is the only obsolete parts vendor that has it.
