BIG SOUND

i have a 78 f150 and it already looks like a beast. now i want it to sound like a beast. I cant afford a whole new top of the line exhaust but i would like to get some noise. i want it to sound like a V8 without putting an actual V8 in. i unhooked the catalyac converter and it sounds awesome but that is not legal and the school cop is already on my butt. if you could give me some hopefully legal ideas besides glass pacs that would be awesome. thanks

Cherry bombs or straight pipes would sound sweet on it. And as far as the converter goes, cut it off, rip it open, remove EVERYTHING on the inside, stick it back on and run a spliter behind it.

what motor do you have. Do you have a 300. If so when you took the cat off did you lose power. thanks

if you have the 300 heres a trick i heard once. Get a special set of headers made. run cylinders 1,2,&4 out one side and cylinders 3,5,&6 out the other side. this apperentaly creates a v8 sound. but if you have the o2 sencer you have to hook up one to each side and splice the wires together. if you have to have catalis converters on there just install one on each side. Ivwe heard of people just using cheap junkyard ones
