My problem is the design of the hedder, It curves backwards, on the last cylinder on the passanger side. OK, that might sound all fine and dandy, except that the pipe gets in the way of ANY regular wrench getting in there. I did shorten the bolt, just to get it in, and I had to grind the head of the bolt so it can turn in the cramped space. It is really tight, even for my allen-head bolts. Has anybody had this problem, how did you fix it? Thanks.
I don't know if this will help or not, but I ordered the ARP stainless steel bolt kit for my FE. It cost about $100 and is nearly every bolt is 3/8" I noticed on the headers that it was much easier to work with a 3/8" box end wrench. I got the hex head, but they also make a 12pt head that would be a bit better for tight areas but won't work with 6pt sockets.
The bolts are all polished stainless steel and are very strong, they also make kits for just headers. If you can reach it with a 3/8" box end, this will help.
