Question Breaks making rubbing noise when applied

I've got an 04 f250 6.0 4x4 c/c
I noticed the other day (as I don't drive it every day, it sits for awhile) that when I applied the breaks, I sometimes hear a slight rubbing or grinding noise. I took every wheel off and checked the breaks, they all look good, not new but like new. I have about 71,000 miles on it and most highway. On the front breaks the slide pins where sticking alittle, so I took them apart and cleaned them and greased them. They seem fine now but I' still getting a noise. I can't be sure but I think it is coming from the back. I didn't pull the rotor of and look at the parking break but I tested it and works fine. I wonder if the pads are glased and need replacing. They did look shinny and glassy. These are the original pads on the truck. The rotors looked fine, no marks gouged in them. I do have larger wheels on the truck and maybe this has heated the pads up more than usual. Any thoughts? Everything is working well, and the sound is just when I start to apply the breaks. Only last for a second or two. I'm thinking I just need to replace the pads but want to her from someone else before I do this. Thanks

Well it is always a good thing to replace your brakes regularly. I do at least every 50,000 miles whether they need it or not. It is my opinion that it is always fun to go fast but better to be able to stop. Now if you dont drive the truck everyday, there is a good chance that the rotors are building up a slight bit of rust on them inbetween the drives. So how long was it after you drove it that you did the look at the rotors? If it was right-away, you would see them all bright and shinny. Now I did have a '92 F150 that I replaced the rotors on it because no matter what (and it was my daily driver) I got a sort of rubbing noise. It was due to the pads were not making contact at the top of the rotor causing it to become worn in further from the edge. Sounds weird and unlikely but it did fix it right up. I hope that this gives you a place to start or some ideas to think about.

If it is rust build-up on the rotor which will occur if it sits for a few days the noise should disapear after a few miles of good stops.

No it's not rust on the rotors. It's doing it every time I step on the brakes. Just for a moment, then it's fine. I'm thinking I just need to replace the pads. It stops fine. I thing I've been driving the mustang to much lately and my truck is telling me about it. I'm thinking the pads a glazed. I do need to replace the rotors also as I think they are getting warped. I never liked them turned down because after they always warp faster.
