ok so here is the proplem after i shut my truck off it makes this ticking sound for about 1 min or so. it sounds just like the when you turn the key to accessory before the engine is started. i ask a few mech's about it they really couldnt tell me and being that this is my first diesel. i dont know that much. any help or insight would be great.
well my truck is a 2003 ford f250 6.0L with about 61,000mi. i have an EDGE tunner, turbo back exhust, airad cold air, and 456 gears. thats about it. this ticking sound is just like the sound most diesel trucks that i have heard make just before you start them but im hearing it after i shut the truck off.
One of the older calibrations (Oct 2006) used post-cycle injector buzz that cycled the oil out of the injectors in order to reduce stiction on the next startup. It was replaced with inductive heating calibration. If it bugs you, you could have it reflashed for about $100.
could be the vaccum pump if it isnt equiped with hydro booster. somebody correct me if im wrong i dont pay attention to build dates when it comes to hydro boost.
Nothing wrong....its just the flash that you have. I have the same buzzing sound out of my '03 F350 when I shut her down.... just purging your injectors, thats all.
