They might offer the fx2 next year if sales can justify coming out with a new model. I know it sells well in warm climates (on a recent trip to FL I noticed there were a lot on the road). A special model like that usually takes a couple of years to be offered. Keep your fingers crossed if you want one.
yeah, I was on a work trip in TX just last week and I saw alot of FX2's as well. I only saw one in Pittsburgh so far, usually everyone here has 4x4's.
Someone on another forum went to an official Ford media/test drive event and they said the Ford rep seemed to acknowledge that the FX2 should make a comeback in a year or two.
Considering the direction that Ford has taken the '09 FX4 in, I'm a little puzzled as how they would properly identify an FX2. Sure, the badging, some interior goodies, but what about the power plant and axle? This could be interesting as the '08 FX2 was a sharp looking truck.
It'd be interesting although isnt it basically just an XLT 4x2. Aside from some fancy wheels?
That was the case for the '04-'08 gen trucks. FX4 and FX2 got you a few good looking goodies and a skidplate or two. Now that the FX4 is it's own trim level, the FX2 will certainly require it's own identity.
It would really be cool with the 6.2L, 20's and a lowered suspension all wrapped up in a kick a$$ paint scheme.

I like that idea. How about a regular cab short box version being available. Plus a 5 speed manual....That would make me happy although I dont really know of there being a market for it.

It seems these short bed reg cab trucks don't have the same apeal that they had 20 years ago. I have a co-worker who owns a reg cab short bed '08 Tundra 4x4 and it looks as awkward now as a supercab truck did back in the '70's. It's funny how things change.
