New Here
I currently own a 1976 F-250 Crew Cab, a 1978 F-350 Supercab (project), and a 1979 F-150. I bought the '79 seventeen years ago and the Crew Cab about 13 years ago. I've also got two Unibodies (a '61 and a '63) that I hope someday to get on the road again. I'm glad to see I'm not the only person around that wants to see these great machines kept in use. I doubt that anything built in the last twenty years will still be working daily like my Fords when they get to the age mine are. They don't build 'em like that anymore.
I've got one quick question (I don't think this crosses forum guidelines): In my area I know the whereabouts of quite a few old Fords in varying condition from the mid-50s up. If a person were to work at aquiring these for a decent price, how hard do you think it would be to resell them without losing your shirt? I saw a '70s-something Crew Cab that had been crushed the other day and nearly fell over. I'd love to try to buy these up and get them to people who would want to get them back on the road. I just don't have the 'deep pockets' to go around buying them and keeping them. Seems this would be a way to save a lot of old Ford iron from the scrap heap...
Good to hear about your happy accident in finding this sight and congrats on your Ford fleet, I feel the same way in that they don't build trucks now like they did.
For your question post this in any of the older truck forums such as the 1967 - 1972 F-100 And Larger F-Series Trucks: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum39/ I`ve thought the same about saving old Fords from the crusher but my pockets aren`t deep after acquiring my fleet......
Don`t over look joining your local TX chapter to meet some of the good folks with old trucks there too: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum96/
If I could put a little in and flip for a little profit I'd be glad to, but often they need more than is financially doable for the return on investment.
Welcome aboard!
