Smile Caged Nuts!

Hello everyone! Does anyone know a site or bussiness that sells weldable cage nuts. been looking on line for sometime now and the only ones I've found are not weldable. I've seen them used in my classic truck book but no luck finding them. They are the ones with the square nut that moves slightly in the cage and wings on either side to weld to. Any help would be oh so greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

Fastenal has all types of fasteners as well as most other hardware suppliers. Do a google search. You should come up with some sources.
Here is a link to Fastenal's.
Not sure if these are the kind you are looking for.

Try PV Antique Ford, I believe they are in Tewksbury Mass. I stopped in their showroom over the summer and they had caged nuts there.

these flange nuts are a little easier to find and easy to tack weld on with the flange

Spaenaur has a lot of weird automotive fasteners: Spaenaur
and, hot dang, here's some Gripco Tab Weld Nuts and more Floating Nut Retainers

I've just removed the grille from the '59 M100, which reminded me how much I hate those clip nut things. Welded nuts may be the answer.

Spaenaur Floating Nut Retainers
208-278 5/16-18

These are the same one's used in the classic truck article that I assume you saw. They only sell them in pkgs of 50 but in pulling my front end apart this week I can see an easy 20+ on the front end and another 15-20 on the rear fenders so I think a pkg of 50 will get used real quick. Also these should allow about 1/4" of adjustment over just welding as nut to the inner lip and this has a collar for alignment that should help as well. I just called them and they are $165 per 100 so half that for 50 but their is a minimum charge of $100 US or $25 Can. If you order from the states you will need to set up a buisness account and a UPS acount as well. This works fine for me but others might want to find another supplier if their is one.
