I was wondering... of the guys that have a short exhaust, do you always see water in the exhaust? My exhaust exits right after the cab and there is always water coming out.
I have had water in the oil of previous motors but I see none this time. The motor was built up for more power then the last time it ran but I dont see any water leaks.
I get a bit of exhaust vapor/water as my 239 flattie is warming up,...more in the colder months. There is some info on it some where in a thread I read recently. You may run a " exaust water or vapor search. From what I remember it seems to be common and not a big deal.
Thats what I was kinda hoping/thinking. I guess I wont worry about it until I can drive it and see what happens or I notice something out of place. Thanks for the reassurance.
Some water vapor and water from the exhaust on warm up is common on all engines and exhaust systems, I wouldn't worry about it.
Thats some pretty short exhaust. Right now I have pipes that terminate in some turn downs right in front of the differential. Not really my choice but I got the exhaust for free. Eventually I want to run it all the way out the back. Sure the truck sounds pretty good but you get a terrible low RPM resonance just off idle that can be pretty obnoxious. Of course my cab is bare bones right now and there is no insulation anywhere so that doesn't help any............someday
