I have the same problem you have. Can't get the 6-cd to do anything, tells me (cd error). I will be watching this.

You could go to a salvage yard and buy a pulled unit. You can pick out one that looks new and they'll guaranty it works. It would be cheaper to buy after market but if you what it to look OEM you'll pay for it.

I have a Dual cd player. It has CD, Radio, HD Radio, Blue tooth, and a 1/8th inch aux. plug for and Ipod type player and a USB plug that i have my 4gig data traveler plug into with 400+ songs on it. both the aux. and usb plug are on the front of it. OR i plug my laptop into the AUX. plug and use it when i wanna kill some time on youtube or watch a movie. Guess i could plug it into the USB also.

DUAL was always the cheap crap stereos but they have decided to give the big time a shot and i am impressed. And it was till only $120 or so.

The factory cd players are all over ebay for fairly decent prices, but if I were you I would look just look for an aftermarket. I got a Panisonic Double Din DVD, CD, GPS, etc. off of ebay for just under 350.00 shipped.

Factory 6 disc changers are known to be problematic... go for an aftermarket head unit.

I thought our trucks had din + 1/2 radios. How did the double din fit?

I'm fairly certain that they are considered double din units. I replaced my single CD player last year for a nice Sony unit. I have no complaints plus it powers a small amp & woofer, and I can plug up my IPOD to it.

JD, your 6 disk unit must be aftermarket? Not the one in the dash.
