using LED's for instrument backlight?

Hey Y'all

I have a 2000 Excursion, and the little light bulbs that illuminate the instrument cluster are burning out. I, stupidly, replaced one but now more are going out and I want to stop in little 12V LED replacements like this

T10 Wedge Short Round LED Light - Automotive LED Lights - LEDLight

But I have a question: Can I do this? I know LED's are funky about being dimmed, and I don't know if they bulbs or the dimmer circuit on the truck would be damaged by using LED's. would it?

thanks in advance!

The led's will cause no damage. But I don't know if they would work like you said with the dimming feature. I would try it and see.

cool, I'll have to give it a whirl. Worst case, maybe I can install them somewhere else on the truck.

Thanks!
