no dash gauges
I have a 03 sd 6l a week a go lost all my dash gauges speedo & tach .. Replaced the alternator and the blown fuse worked good for little over a week and then on thursday dash went out again, took it to the dealer said they just replace the fuse. Today I replaced three fuses but the funny thing about it is that the fuse that has been blowing is #45 which is "ignition switch run/start feed" any ideas what would cause this.

I would start by taking the shroud off of the bottom of the steering column and carefully check all the wiring you can as far up and back as you can, looking for a wire that is chafing against a metal frame or structure that has worn through the insulation.
Beyond that, think about anything in the truck that doesn't work when that fuse is blown. Any of those things, and any wire to any of those things can be causing a short and blowing the fuse.

check the wires that go over the stearing colum to the tow/haul button, they often rub where there go over the shift soliniod. everytime you shift into gear it rubs and shorts. seem many cases like this. hope this helps
