Maybe one to build the way you want while you continue to drive your exsiting engine?
Never really priced 7.3's, but these sound like a pretty good price.
And, theoretically, being from 'fleet" vehicles should have been fairly well maintained.
If I had the dough laying around, I'd love to buy one as a "project" engine.
I am over in New Providence (a stone's throw north of Quarryville but you probably know where it is). I have a couple of lawn mower customers over in Oxford that I'll be getting to in the next month or so. I've been thinking for quite a while now I'd let you know I when was in the area and drop by to trade tales if it suited you.
I actually lived in Oxford on Penn Ave (?I think- I can find it by driving around, but not sure of the street name?) for a couple of years when I was just a tyke before my folks moved back to Pittsburgh.
Kinda afraid to meet you though. I have PMS pretty well under control and if I see someone else's mods firsthand, I might relapse!!
Southern Lancaster County Farmer's Sportmans Association.
Recognized nationally as being the "longest named" gun club in the NE US
Know it well. When life was simple, I shot many thousands of rounds of .45 acp on their handgun range.
Hosted a lancaster County FFA trap shoot there annually for close to 20 years.
I'm only about 1-1/2 mile from there.
cool, you hosted it for 20 years????? how old are you...lol, i never got into trap much, i prefer sporting clays. for that i go to oxford gun club. either or, we'll have to get some shooting trips together soon.
sporting clays is multiple stations that you shoot, we shoot a walk through wooded course, 50 birds per round, tyipcly 5 birds per station, 1 single, 2 simo's. each station is totaly different from the last, it could be birds fast and straight out, straight up, straigth at you or any combination of them. and they also throw rabbits into the mix. those basterds will get ya.
trap is a bird sent from a single trap house always thrown out awya from you. the angle can vary from left to right but elevation is normal unaffected. you rotate position in a line but shoot in basicly the same direction.
i better not forget to mention skeet.
skeet uses a "high" and "low" house, you shoot 1 bird from each house and move your shooting position 180 degress one step at a time. skeet can be alot of fun but i prefer sporting clay YouTube - Skeet Shooting
cool, you hosted it for 20 years????? how old are you...lol, i never got into trap much
Well, the club hosted it, I organized it. But the fella that runs the tap shooting has had some health issues and we haven't been able to run it for the past couple of years.
I've been teaching at Solanco for 24 years now. How do they say it? "Old enough to know better, but dumb enough to do it anyway sometimes." That would be me.
I don't shoot much at all anymore. 24 hours in a day just isn't enough.
Someone should do something about that.
I'l give you a holler when I am heading over to Oxford. Later this month is looking likely.
