alternator wiring

on my 83 f150 the voltage regulator went out and I didn't realize that I had an external one. So when I changed out the alternator I forgot which posts the 3 wires went to. I know which one is to the battery but cant figure out the other 2. I also changed the regulator. but now the truck wont run without the battery. Any help is greatly appreacated.

Till someone posts that knows, check Autozone website for repairs on your truck. Pretty good info for most vehicle wiring and testing.

If your truck has a ammeter in the dash, this is the diagram for it.
